About Us

How We Got Started

The East Alabama Amateur Radio Club was founded around 1958 as “The Opelika Amateur Radio Club.”  Around 1960, the name was changed to "East Alabama Amateur Radio Club" to broaden the recognition and involvement of regional Hams outside the Opelika area.

The Club call sign is W4LEE.
